Robert De Niro Makes Surprise Appearance At Brooklyn Home

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A woman walks into her living room to find an international celebrity sitting on her couch. Sounds like the set-up to a joke.

But as CBS 2's Scott Rapoport reported, it really happened to a woman in Brooklyn.

"Well it was a little surprising," Marjorie Frank said about finding actor Robert De Niro right in her living room. "Right, his butt was on the sofa."

It happened on Thursday during filming in Cobble Hill Park for De Niro's new movie "The Intern."

The world famous actor wanted to watch USA's World Cup match and apparently needed a place to do it, Rapoport reported.

Just so happens De Niro's movie executives rented Frank's home as a green room for the cast and crew.

Frank said she was upstairs doing some work, then came down the stairs when much to her surprise, "woah, you know, he actually came to be in the house."

Frank said she saw De Niro laying back on the couch, chilling out watching World Cup soccer -- USA versus Germany.

"He said 'you have a very lovely house,'" Frank said. "He didn't ask me for anything."

So where are the selfies?

"I'll tell you, there are no selfies," she said.

Frank told Rapoport she didn't want to invade the actor's sense of space or privacy. But she did say he was easy on the eyes.

"He looked very handsome. He's wearing a blue suit with a white shirt and a tie," she said. "He was very kind."

And that's the story of Bobby D in the house, Rapoport reported.
