NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A Brooklyn man is dead and another is under arrest after a hit-and-run accident early Saturday morning.

Police responded to the accident in the borough's Marine Park section just before 3 a.m. Saturday.

According to officials, 32-year-old Bryan Loughran was left on the ground and unconscious after he was hit while trying to cross the street.

Loughran was taken to Beth Israel Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The alleged driver of the vehicle that struck Loughran, 50-year-old Michael Casale, was arrested about two hours after the crash at his home in Brooklyn's Dyker Heights neighborhood.
