Police fired on the man and killed him with a single shot, 1010 WINS' Roger Stern reported.

The incident left neighbors stunned.

"He was a nice guy, a truck driver. He went to work. Him and I talked, but personally I didn't know what was going on with him," a neighbor said.

Sources said that police had been called to the location twice and one day because the man had allegedly been harassing his girlfriend.

On Sunday night, authorities were still on the scene investigating.
