NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Police on Monday were asking the public to help them find a suspect they said exposed himself to three children playing on a Bronx street and tried to get into their home.

Around 5:10 p.m. this past Friday, the suspect came up to the children of unspecified ages as they played on Stebbins Avenue in the Bronx, and exposed himself, police said.

The suspect then followed the children and tried to get into their home, but failed and ran off, police said.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male between the ages of 18 and 20, standing 5 feet 6 to 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 140 pounds. He was last seen wearing a red polo shirt and blue jeans.

Police have released as surveillance video of the suspect.

Anyone with information was asked to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS, log onto the Crime Stoppers website, or text tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and enter TIP577.
