Gas Explosions Set Off Fire In Chelsea High-Rise

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A series of gas explosions set off an early-morning high-rise fire in Chelsea.

The explosions occurred on the sixth, seventh and eighth floors of a building on West 25th Street shortly before 1:50 a.m. Monday, authorities said.

A fire broke out on the ninth floor and some interior walls collapsed in the building.

The fire has been extinguished and the FDNY said there were no injuries.
