NYPD: Skeletal Remains Found In Filthy Brooklyn Apartment
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — The NYPD is investigating after skeletal remains were found inside a filthy apartment in Brooklyn.
Police responded to the apartment on 15th Avenue in Borough Park around 5 p.m. Monday after receiving a 911 call of a foul odor.
When officers arrived at the apartment, which was in disarray, filled with garbage and refuse, they found a 28-year-old woman who said she wanted to harm herself, police said.
The woman was taken to Maimonides Hospital for psychiatric evaluation and officers later discovered the skeletal remains, police said.
The medical examiner’s office will determine the cause of death.
The investigation is ongoing.
