Police Seek Attacker Who Seriously Injured Off-Duty NYPD Officer

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- An off-duty NYPD officer was in a medically-induced coma Saturday night after being sucker punched on a subway platform.

The NYPD told CBS 2 the officer was waiting for a southbound No. 6 train at 23rd Street and Park Avenue when the incident happened.

The 29-year-old officer fell to the ground and hit his head on the platform, causing bleeding on his brain, 1010 WINS reported.

The attacker was with two women, but was able to get away, CBS 2 reported.
