Jerry Recco is far from perfect; this we know.  So the update maven’s blunders during this Monday morning update really came as no surprise to anyone.

Jerry followed up Boomer and Craig’s discussion about British Open winner Rory McIlroy and his father’s foresight by reporting that Rickie Fowler, not McIlroy, won the tournament.  Jerry was correct in reporting that the 24-year-old McIlroy was very proud of himself afterwards.

Moving right along, the Yanks finished off a sweep of the Reds, a victory Suzyn Waldman could be heard describing as ‘easy.’  The Mets lost two of three out in San Diego, getting their road trip off to an unfortunate start.

In addition to some comments made by Rex Ryan with regards to his coaching ability, indications are that Giants guard Chris Snee will call it a career and announce his retirement later today…
