Man, 61, Accused Of Sexually Assaulting 6-Year-Old Girl In New Brunswick, N.J.

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A 61-year-old New Brunswick, New Jersey man stood charged Monday with sexually assaulting a 6-year-old girl in a park.

Carlos Ocon was arrested and charged this past Saturday with two counts of aggravated sexual assault, and one count each of kidnapping, endangering the welfare of a child, and terroristic threats, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor's office.

He was being held in lieu of $750,000 bail at the Middlesex County Adult Corrections Center in North Brunswick Monday night, police said.

Ocon was accused of coming up to the 6-year-old girl, whom he did not know, outside a store on Remsen Avenue in New Brunswick, prosecutors said. He allegedly escorted the girl to Boyd Park, and sexually assaulted her, prosecutors said.

Ocon then allegedly threatened the girl in an unspecified way before letting her go at Remsen Avenue and George Street, prosecutors said.
