Mets Have 5 Players On MLB's List Of Top 100 Prospects; Yanks Have 2

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- On Sunday night, MLB.com released its new list of the Top 100 prospects in baseball.

The Mets were well-represented, and the Yankees have a couple of players that you'll want to keep an eye on.

Sandy Alderson's system has five prospects on the list, led by right-handed pitcher Noah Syndergaard (No. 13).

Catcher Kevin Plawecki, currently blocked by Travis d'Arnaud, comes in at 67th. He's directly followed by outfielder and former first-round pick Brandon Nimmo at 68.

Outfielder Michael Conforto, taken 10th overall in this year's draft, is No. 86, and the final Met on the list is 19-year-old first baseman Dominic Smith (No. 88). Smith was taken 11th overall by New York in last year's draft.

Syndergaard was expected to make his majors debut this season, but he may have to wait until 2015.

The Yankees' top prospect is 20-year-old pitcher Luis Severino, who is No. 70 overall. The other Bomber on MLB.com's list is 21-year-old catcher Gary Sanchez (No. 76).
