Baldwin wrote and directed the movie, which also stars his brother Billy.

In the movie, Daniel Baldwin's character is asked to take a 24-year-old drug-addicted girl to a remote cabin and force her to get sober.

Baldwin is grateful to be debuting the film on Long Island, especially after his well-publicized struggles with drugs and alcohol.

"To be able to come back sober after having such a long, documented history of things that have gone wrong in my life due to drugs and alcohol, it's a nice feather in my cap," Baldwin said.

The Long Beach International Film Festival runs through August 4 and will feature a special screening of the film classic "Grease" in Lido Beach for "Throwback Thursday Drive-In Movie Night" as well as a party at the Allegria Hotel on Friday night.

Features, shorts, documentaries and more will be screened at the Madison Theatre all weekend. the Long Beach Theatre remains closed due to Superstorm Sandy.
