LONG BEACH, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) — The 3rd Annual Long Beach International Film Festival is kicking off Wednesday night with the world premiere of Daniel Baldwin’s new movie, “The Wisdom To Know The Difference.”
Baldwin, who grew up in Massapequa, told 1010 WINS’ Mona Rivera that he is honored to open the festival.
“It’s really exciting to be able to come home to Long Island,” he said.
Baldwin wrote and directed the movie, which also stars his brother Billy.
In the movie, Daniel Baldwin’s character is asked to take a 24-year-old drug-addicted girl to a remote cabin and force her to get sober.
Baldwin is grateful to be debuting the film on Long Island, especially after his well-publicized struggles with drugs and alcohol.
“To be able to come back sober after having such a long, documented history of things that have gone wrong in my life due to drugs and alcohol, it’s a nice feather in my cap,” Baldwin said.
The screening is being held at Madison Theatre at Molloy College located at 1000 Hempstead Avenue in Rockville Centre at 7:30 p.m. There will be a Q&A with Daniel Baldwin and his cast and crew after the film.
