NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) — The NYPD has asked the public for help in identifying and locating a man wanted in connection with an attempted rape that took place in the Bronx.
At around 2 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, the suspect followed a young woman along East 149th Street down Jackson Avenue and St. Mary’s Park, police said.
The man brandished a box cutter before pulling on the woman’s shirt, throwing her to the ground, getting on top of her. The victim screamed for help and the suspect fled in an unknown direction.
The suspect has been described as a Hispanic male, between the ages of 20 and 25, he is between 5’6″ and 5’7″ with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a hat, a long sleeve white shirt with dark sleeves, a design on the front, jean shorts, and black sneakers.
