NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Police have arrested a man they say robbed a 90-year-old man in the parking lot of a Queens supermarket earlier this month.
Wade Hairston, 28, of Queens has been charged with first-degree robbery in connection with the July 18 incident.
According to police, Hairston grabbed the elderly man by the neck as he walked through the parking lot of a Stop & Shop on 48th Street in Sunnyside and demanded his wallet and debit card PIN.
Hairston then allegedly forced the victim to drive to two different ATMs to make withdrawals from the victim’s bank account, police said.
Hairston was also charged with criminal obstruction of breathing, unlawful imprisonment and harassment in connection with the case.
