Police In Brooklyn Search For Suspect Who Allegedly Molested Girl, 13

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Police on Tuesday were asking for the public's help in identifying a man who allegedly claimed he had a gun and molested a 13-year-old girl in Crown Heights, Brooklyn.

Police said around 9:10 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, a man approached the girl at the corner of Utica Avenue and Eastern Parkway and attempted to talk to her, during which she refused his advances.

The girl then went inside a nearby store, when police say the suspect pulled her out of the store and acted as though he had a gun. Police said he then began to grope her.

The victim ran back into the store and took a picture of the suspect on her cellphone.

Police said an employee removed the man from the store.

The suspect is described as a black male between the ages of 25 and 30, 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-9 and 160 pounds. He was said to have been wearing a blue baseball cap with the letters "KC" on it along with jeans, white sneakers and a white shirt during the incident.

If you have any information regarding the suspect or the incident, you're urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
