WATCH: Smooth Justin Verlander Tosses Kate Upton A Souvenir In The Bronx

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The Tigers are in town to take on the Yankees, so supermodel Kate Upton came to the Bronx on Monday night to see her boyfriend, Justin Verlander, in action.

Verlander didn't pitch in the Yankees' 2-1 victory, but he was on his game in the flirtation department.

The six-time All-Star tossed a ball to Upton, who was sitting in the first row behind the Tigers' dugout. The model reacted with a loving smile and grin, clearly smitten with her beau.

This ball-throwing incident was met with more contentment and approval than the one that A-Rod engineered during the 2012 American League Championship Series. That, you might remember, didn't go over so well.

Verlander is scheduled to start on Wednesday against Chris Capuano. The 2011 AL Cy Young Award winner is having a down year. Consistently one of the most dominant starters in the majors, the 31-year-old is just 10-9 with a 4.66 ERA.
