After dismissing the story that Michael Vick didn’t put forth maximum effort when competing for the Jets’ starting-quarterback position, Boomer & Craig put things in the capable hands of Jerry Recco, who prepared an update for the occasion.

Jerry got started with some comments from Jets GM John Idzik on Dimitri Patterson, after the cornerback went AWOL before Friday night’s preseason game against the Giants.  Patterson has since returned to the team.

As for Eli, the Giants’ quarterback was happy that they were able to “stick it in with great protection,” while head coach Tom Coughlin tries to make sense of all of the injuries.

Plus, Nicki Minaj made a new music video (boy, did she ever), the Yankees won for the fourth time in a row, Suzyn Waldman chats with Brian McCann (pictured) after his game-winning three-run blast and Craig offers some pointers to those who ask players and coaches questions following games. Also, the Mets won big over the Dodgers in L.A. but lost David Wright to a stiff neck in the process…
