WANTAGH, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) – Social media helped two teenagers connect with a few muggers on Long Island, police said.

The two 14-year-old victims contacted someone on Facebook about buying sneakers and arranged to meet Monday night, police said.

When the victims got to the meeting spot in Wantagh, police said they were met by three men who pulled a gun, grabbed their money and fled.

Police were able to track two of the suspects to a home in Holbrook, where a black BB gun was also recovered.

Joshua Dacunha and Brandon Ward, both 18, face robbery charges.

A third suspect remains at large.
