Confident Jason Pierre-Paul: Giants Will Win The NFC East

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Forget last year's disappointment. Forget the struggling offense. Forget the predictions that the Eagles will win the NFC East.

Throw it all out the window.

That's what Jason Pierre-Paul is doing. The two-time Pro Bowler believes the Giants will return to the playoffs, and they won't need a Wild Card berth to get there.

"We're gonna win (the division)," the defensive end told Stephen A. Smith on SiriusXM Mad Dog Sports Radio. "I've been here for five years, and each year the division has been up for grabs. We never knew who was gonna win the division, and it always came down to the last game. This year we're gonna try to snatch it and run with it."

Big Blue won all five of its preseason games, but the first-string offense looked out of sync under new coordinator Ben McAdoo.

"Trust me, we've got this," Pierre-Paul told Smith. "The offense is gonna tighten up and they're gonna do their job. I believe in the offense, and they know it. And we're gonna come out with a win this week, hopefully. We've gotta do our jobs. The defense is gonna do its part, the offense is gonna do its part and, most of all, special teams is gonna do its part."

Which team is JPP most worried about in the NFC East?

"Nobody but us."

The Giants will kick off their season on Monday night in Detroit against the Lions.
