Police: Man Attacked 2 Women In 1 Hour In Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A man who allegedly tried to rape a woman in Brooklyn last month is also wanted for attacking another woman that same morning, according to the NYPD.

Police said they are searching for 27-year-old Cortez Simmons in connection with the attacks that occurred between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. on Aug. 31 in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

In the first incident, police said Simmons lifted up the skirt of a 33-year-old woman as she was walking near Patchen Avenue and Chauncey Street. When the victim tried to follow him, police said Simmons raised his fists and threatened to punch her in the face.

About 45 minutes later, Simmons followed a 32-year-old woman into a vestibule at Ralph Avenue and Bainbridge Street and tried to rape her, police said. The victim fought him off and the suspect ran off with the her cellphone, police said.

Simmons is 6-feet-tall, 195 pounds with brown eyes and short black hair, police said.
