Antrel Rolle On WFAN: 'I Challenge The Fans To Be Louder'

NEW YORK (WFAN) -- The Giants are coming off of a terrible loss, and are now 0-2 for the second straight season.

Big Blue essentially handed Sunday's game to a Drew Stanton-led Cardinals team. But safety Antrel Rolle, as one would expect, is not worried despite the early-season hole.

"No, no I'm not," Rolle told WFAN co-hosts Joe Benigno and Evan Roberts on Tuesday afternoon. "I'm not worried at all, to be honest with you ... There's still 14 games left in the season. There's still a lot of football to be played ... I'm very positive with this team and the way it's going ... We're right there. If we find a way not to beat ourselves, we're right there. Our talent level is through the roof."

Costly penalties and poor plays at critical moments doomed New York in its home opener. The Giants led, 14-10, heading into the fourth quarter before Arizona responded with 15 unanswered points to put the game away.

It was loud at MetLife Stadium, which wasn't lost on Rolle. But the veteran wants the crowd to be even louder on Sunday when the Giants host the Texans in East Rutherford.

"I challenge the fans to be louder," Rolle told Joe & Evan. "I challenge all the fans in New York to be louder. And you know what? In order for them to be louder, we have to give them something to be loud about. I challenge ourselves to go out there and play better, to make more plays, to make them get into the game that much more. Because these fans help us out a lot ... We really love when the crowd gets into the game."

It's only Week 3, but is Sunday's game a must-win? The three-time Pro Bowler certainly believes so.

"We're 0-2, we're not down," Rolle said. "I can guarantee you that. We're not down. We're nowhere (near) the same team we were at the beginning of last year. We're not there. We're not that team. And we're gonna go out there and show you this upcoming Sunday ... This is a must-win. At all costs. There's no if, ands or buts about it. This is a must-win."
