3-Alarm Fire Breaks Out At Midtown East Building
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Fire crews worked to extinguish a fire at a four-story building in Midtown East Wednesday night.
The fire broke out inside a restaurant on 2nd Avenue at 49th Street and quickly spread to apartments above.
One person on the second floor had to be rescued. There were no reports of injuries, CBS 2 reported.
The Buildings Department will determine when residents will be allowed back in.
Thirty-three units responded to the fire, including 145 personnel, according to the fire department.
