Teen Killed, 3 Hurt In New Jersey Turnpike Crash

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) - A New York City teenager was killed and three other people were seriously injured when a tractor-trailer and a minivan collided on the New Jersey Turnpike.

State police say 15-year-old Nour Qudsi of Brooklyn was pronounced dead at the scene of Friday night's crash in South Brunswick.

Three other people in the minivan, 12-year-old Ayah Qudsi and two adults, Dunia Qudsi and Wisam Awwad, were being treated for undisclosed injuries. All three are Brooklyn residents, but it wasn't clear Saturday if any of the four victims are related.

Authorities say Awwad was driving the minivan northbound in the right lane when it slowed down or stopped shortly before midnight. It was then rear-ended by the tractor-trailer.

No charges have been filed, but the investigation is ongoing.
