Police Find Human Remains Buried In Brooklyn Yard
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- NYPD detectives spent hours scouring a Brooklyn rowhouse Thursday, after finding human remains in the backyard.
As CBS 2's Weijia Jiang reported, police Thursday night did not know how the human remains got there, or whose they were.

Police said a tip from an informant led them to the unassuming rowhouse at 657 St. John's Pl., on the cusp of Prospect Heights and Crown Heights, Brooklyn.
A neighbor snapped pictures showing a meticulous search.
"They found some bodies or something up in there that was buried in the backyard?" a neighbor said. "Yes, it is creepy."
It is also possibly criminal. Sources told CBS 2 the remains are believed to be the male victim of a homicide.
"I can't believe it," said a man named Nelson who is the nephew of the homeowner. "I've been sleeping there for days and I didn't know."

Nelson said his aunt owns the house, but she does not live there. He spent the past couple of nights inside – clueless, he said, to what was outside.
"Just the backyard – that's all I've seen – the backyard," he said. "It looked no different than any other backyard to me."
NYPD detectives filled trucks with bags of evidence from the scene, after members of the Crime Scene Unit combed through the grass. A tent was set up to shield the gruesome discovery.
"It's like a movie, basically," Nelson said.
Police said it was unclear how long the remains had been in the ground.
Neighbors said no one has actually lived in the house for a year, but it used to be packed with parties involving girls, drugs and gambling.
A neighbor described the residence to 1010 WINS' Roger Stern more bluntly as a "crack house."
"I'm really surprised that it's happening right now, but I'm not surprised," one woman told 1010 WINS' Roger Stern, "What used to go on in there. It used to be a crack house. Wherever crack is involved, any and everything goes."
Now, it is at the center of what appears to be a murder mystery.
Police sources said investigators interviewed the homeowner and do not believe she was involved.
The New York City Medical Examiner's office was on the scene with police, sources said. The Medical Examiner's office forensic anthropologist was to determine the age of the remains, source said.
