Police: Suspect Stole $4,100 From Midtown Apartment

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police were searching Thursday for a suspect who walked into an apartment in Midtown and stole $4,100.

Around 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, the suspect walked into an apartment through an unlocked rooftop terrace, at a building at an undisclosed address in the Midtown North Precinct, police said. The precinct includes the area from Lexington Avenue west to the Hudson River, and from 43rd and 45th streets north to 59th Street.

The suspect took about $4,100 in cash, police said.

The suspect was described as a black male wearing a dark-colored polo-style shirt, blue jeans, and sneakers. He was last seen carrying a white shoulder bag, police said.

Police have released surveillance photos of the suspect.
