Recordings Reveal De Blasio Aide Noerdlinger's Boyfriend Name-Dropped When Fighting Parking Ticket

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Audio tapes released by New York City's Department of Finance reveal the boyfriend of Rachel Noerdlinger, the chief of staff for Mayor Bill de Blasio's wife, Chirlane McCray, invoked Noerdlinger's name when fighting parking tickets earlier this summer.

The recording is from the outset of a hearing before an administrative law judge where Hassaun McFarlan, a.k.a Hassaun Ackles, was contesting a parking ticket issued to Noerdlinger's white Mercedes-Benz, WCBS 880's Rich Lamb reported Friday.

McFarlan can be heard on the recording letting the judge know the car belongs to the first lady's chief of staff.

The judge then says, "I don't care about that."

McFarlan is also heard on the recording complaining that the NYPD is targeting him for parking violations because he is black.

"Is it evidence into consideration that the police be lying because I'm black and drive a nice car?" McFarlan says on the recordings. "Being a black woman, I don't know if you have some understanding that a man who drives nice cars are a little bit, you know, uh, what's the word ... detailed or prioritized or profiled. So I mean my ticket, this is ridiculous."

McFarlan continued to argue race, CBS 2's Marcia Kramer reported.

"… This is ridiculous. Look at the precincts … the 40th, the 32nd, the 28th precinct … there's nothing but black people in all those precincts. … People are getting shot every day and you're writing me a ticket? This is crazy…" he said.

City Hall appears to have finally run out of patience with Noerdlinger's beau, Kramer reported.

"No one at City Hall, including Rachel, supports anti-cop views. The NYPD does a fantastic job serving the people of this City," Press Secretary Phillip Walzak said in a statement. "And no one here condones attempts by anyone to get special treatment."

McFarlan's stunt didn't work and he had to pay $420 to settle four tickets, Kramer reported.

He has at least three more outstanding summonses.

Recently, it was reported that Noerdlinger failed to pay an E-ZPass bill of more than $7,000 and nine parking tickets totaling nearly $900.

When asked about the parking tickets, Mayor de Blasio said, "I think it's very clear in everything I've said that I have faith in her work as a public servant. I think she is doing very good work for this city. And I know a lot of people who have a lot of parking tickets. Everyone should pay their parking tickets."

De Blasio has voiced his support for Noerdlinger despite weeks of negative stories about her private relationship.

Noerdlinger worked for the Rev. Al Sharpton before taking her $170,000-a-year-job with McCray.

Another bit of information is that she lives with McFarlan, who served time for manslaughter and drugs, but never disclosed it before she took the job.

Other missteps include McFarlan calling police officers "pigs" on social media and Noerdlinger not reporting more than $28,000 in unpaid federal taxes, Kramer reported.

Noerdlinger was also reportedly a passenger when McFarlan drove her Mercedes on the wrong side of the street in 2011. Sources said cops smelled marijuana when they stopped the car and that there was an underage minor in the back seat.
