Jon Beason On WFAN: '50-50' Chance I'm Done For The Season

NEW YORK (WFAN) -- Giants linebacker Jon Beason is banged up yet again, and he joined WFAN host Mike Francesa on his weekly spot on Tuesday to provide an update on his status.

It doesn't sound very promising for the three-time Pro Bowler.

"I guess the word would be frustrated," Beason told Francesa when asked how he's feeling. "You do everything you can to battle back. I had the setback against the Cardinals and now, with all honesty, I've been playing without a crucial ligament in my big toe. It's progressively gotten worse over the last couple games, so I'm here in Charlotte to see Dr. (Robert) Anderson and get his professional opinion of what to do now."

There is a chance that the fearsome former first-round pick will be shelved for the rest of the season.

"That's what we're trying to decide," Beason admitted. "It's one thing to get it feeling good, but can I be myself and be productive? You try to do everything you can to help the team. Obviously things right now aren't going well, and we've gotta get it turned around immediately. We've got the bye week, and you want to take the time to decide if that's the best course of action.

"Right now, I'd say it's 50-50. I'm still deciding if the smart thing is to go ahead and get it fixed and get ready for next season."

The two-time All-Pro has only appeared in four of the Giants' seven games this season, and he had to leave Sunday's game against Dallas. The veteran has recorded 11 combined tackles.
