Police Raid Turns Up More Than A Dozen Weapons At Queens Home
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A police raid in Queens on Tuesday resulted in the netting of more than a dozen weapons and hundreds of rounds of ammunition, according to the NYPD.
Victor Rivera, 51, is accused of storing the weapons in his garage and a second-floor apartment located at 58-22 79 Ave. in Ridgewood, police said.
Authorities said among other guns, they discovered two shotguns, three rifles, two assault rifles, a Tech-Nine, a .45 caliber semi-automatic pistol and two .22 caliber revolvers. Officers also found more than 700 rounds of ammunition.
Rivera, who had been arrested for murder in 1982, has been charged with three counts of criminal possession of a loaded firearm, three counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said.
Rivera also faces 20 counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree for storing defaced firearms, assault rifles and ammunition clips due to his prior conviction for possession of a weapon, police said.
