5 Must Watch College Football Games This Weekend

Week 9 of the college football season is upon us and teams everywhere are looking to make a big statement with only 5 weeks left in the season after today. The first college football playoff rankings come out Tuesday so the Top 25 teams around the country are definitely looking to defend their ranking or move up by notching a big win. With that being said, let's take a look at the five most important and must watch college football games this weekend.

5. No. 20 USC vs. No. 19 Utah

The USC Trojans are traveling to Salt Lake City to take on the Utes in a Pac-12 South showdown. The Trojans are looking to improve to 5-1 while the Utes are looking move to 6-1 with a win over the Trojans at home. This game has big time implications in the Pac-12 as USC could move down with a loss (their 3rd of the season) and if the Utes win it would cause a big shake up for for first, second and third place in the South division.

4. Michigan vs. No. 8 Michigan State

While it's been a very disappointing season thus far for the Wolverines (3-4, 1-2 Big Ten) they are playing their in-state rivalry and always put up a good fight against the Spartans in this highly contested game. The Spartans are looking to improve to 7-1 overall and hopefully move up in the rankings before the first college football playoff rankings come out on Tuesday.

3. No. 22 West Virginia vs. Oklahoma State

West Virginia is coming off a big, big win against No. 4 Baylor last year. The Mountaineers have only lost to No. 2 Alabama and No. 4 Oklahoma this year so a win would propel them to 6-2, 4-1 Big 12. The Cowboys and the Mountaineers have the same record so this game has big implications in the standings and the winner is sure to be atop the standings after Saturday.

2. Maryland vs. Wisconsin

While neither team is ranked, the winner might be after this game. Maryland is 5-2 and the Badgers are 4-2, both of whom are looking to notch another important Big Ten win.

1.  No. 3 Ole Miss vs. No. 24 LSU

The Running Rebels look to stay undefeated and hope to get another W in "Death Valley." Ole Miss is only giving up 10.6 points per game which is 1st in the FBS. LSU and Les Miles are looking to move up in the rankings after hopefully defeating the No. 3 team in the country. The Tigers have lost once on the road and once at home to No. 1 Mississippi State back in September.
