Authorities: Man Had Heroin Packets Marked 'Ebola' In Underwear

NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Authorities said Friday that a Newark man who turned himself in to face drug charges was found to have six envelopes of heroin with the word "EBOLA" stamped in red ink on the packets.

Essex County authorities told NJ.com Deandre Beard, 24, surrendered himself Friday morning at the Veterans Courthouse in Newark.

The heroin allegedly was found in his underwear during a subsequent search as he arrived at the courthouse around 10 a.m., and he now faces another drug possession charge, the newspaper reported.

He was being sought on three other unrelated drug-related counts.

Beard was being held at the Essex County Correctional Facility late Friday.
