11/6 CBS2 Morning Weather Headlines

By Giorgio Panetta, CBS 2 Chief Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good morning,

I hope you're not waking up to rain, but chances are, you are. Grab the umbrella and the wellies as you head out.

You'll need a sweater too, some gusty winds will kick in later on in the day, cooling us as the front makes it way through.

The chilly and windy trend will continue into Friday morning. Temps bottom in the 40s with gusts near 40 mph making it a cold start to the day. A wet snowflake could make landfall in our most northern zones -- upper Dutchess, Ulster and Sullivan counties.

Saturday is looking partly to mostly sunny, but below normal. Temps will be in the upper 40s to lower 50s.

Sunday is milder with some insulating clouds and temps in the mid- to upper 50s. There is the chance for some showers late in the day, but some new information just coming in tells me otherwise, so I'll hold off for now.

Thursday Focused Forecast: Wet AM commute. Breaks west by afternoon. Last gasp east by PM commute. Thunderstorms? Best bet later on.

Check back in for the latest.
