11/9 CBS2 Sunday Afternoon Weather Headlines
By Mark McIntyre Jr, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer
We're looking at a nice improvement today in terms of temperatures. Highs will top out at 54 in NYC which is right around our normal high of 55. After the clouds clear out during the day, it'll be a beautiful end to the weekend.
The work week will start off with plenty of sunshine and even warmer temps - we're going with a high of 59 in NYC. Not bad for November 10th! Expect just a few passing clouds on Veterans Day as temperatures jump to the mid 60s. A weak cold front will pass through Wednesday and temps will be seasonable in the mid 50s.
The temperatures will then begin dropping considerably to end the week - but it will NOT be due to the polar vortex. The colder temperatures (which won't be anything extreme) will be due to a big dip in the jet stream over the Eastern US. That being said, it will be noticeably colder than the start of the week, and there could even be some wet snow mixing in with rain showers Thursday night into Friday night.
More details will follow with our coming updates.
