Still-Peeved Jets Fans Unveil First 'Fire John Idzik' Billboards

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- Some fans of the New York Jets are being heard in big, bold letters.

Only the timing isn't exactly ideal.

The first billboards have been unveiled in a much-publicized fan-funded movement to get general manager John Idzik canned. The creators of the website FireJohnIdzik.com tweeted a picture of one of their rotating digital billboards near MetLife Stadium on Sunday night, just hours after the Jets defeated Pittsburgh in a stunner at home.

The website said its two digital billboards are on Route 3 in N.J., while a third static billboard will go up on Route 80 in the coming days. All three billboards were financed through fans' donations.

The Jets head into their bye on a high note after Sunday's 20-13 victory. But 2-8 is still 2-8, and the people behind FireJohnIdzik.com are sticking to their message.

There's more:

-- It appears a fan in a "Fire John Idzik" T-shirt -- sold through the website to help raise cash for its billboards -- was shown on the big screen at MetLife Stadium.

-- And another banner was flown over the Jets, this time during the game, with a message all fans of the green and white can relate to.

The Jets won't be in action again until Nov. 23, when they face the Bills in Buffalo.
