11/12: CBS2 Wednesday Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Justin Lewis

Good afternoon, all...

How about that fog this morning? It certainly made for a tricky commute, didn't it? Visibilities actually got down to 1/8 of a mile at times, and it's still lingering in a few spots. The good news is, conditions have greatly improved across much of the area and we'll continue to see improvements.

Anyway, the remainder of the afternoon is still looking pretty good with partly to mostly sunny skies (mainly clear by dusk), with temperatures even milder than yesterday... mid to upper 60s! But don't get used to this mild weather, as chilly changes are just around the corner...

Tonight we'll finally see some colder air rush in... a breezy evening with temperatures falling into the low 40s by daybreak. So, about 15° colder than what it felt like this morning. And even as we head into Thursday afternoon, temperatures won't budge much as colder air continues to pour in... only the upper 40s to near 50° at best.

Real quick and worth mentioning: precipitation chances Thursday night into early Friday. The models are still trying to bring in a little moisture with a few flakes possible well N&W and a chance for some light rain for the remainder of the area. It's not looking like a big deal at this point, but again, it's worthy of attention.

Moving right along... Friday and Saturday still look to be our coldest days of the season with sunrise temperatures near and around freezing (our coldest morning low so far is 36°); afternoon temperatures will struggle to get into the low to mid 40s! We usually don't see highs like this until mid December!

Check back for updates on how long this cold weather will last!

Enjoy the rest of your day!
