NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Nurses will rally in Lower Manhattan Wednesday evening, calling on President Obama to set a national standard for treating Ebola patients.

"A lot of hospitals are not prepared," Robyn Pegues, who works at VA facilities in Brooklyn and Manhattan, told WCBS 880's Marla Diamond.
"Because right now, the CDC has guidelines, but guidelines are not mandates, so they don't have to be followed, and that's what the problem is," she added.
The nurses will hold a candlelight vigil at 5:15 p.m. in Foley Square to show solidarity with striking nurses in California.
New York City was deemed Ebola free Tuesday with the release of Dr. Craig Spencer, but the nurses say the threat is still very real.
