Police: Men Robbed 83-Year-Old Woman, Knocked Her To Floor In The Bronx

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Wednesday were searching for a suspect who knocked an 83-year-old woman to the floor of a building when she refused to give up her purse in the Bronx.

Around 5:50 p.m. this past Tuesday, the suspects followed the woman into her apartment building on Longfellow Avenue, in the Tremont section of the Bronx, and demanded her purse, police said.

The woman refused, and the suspects knocked her to the floor and caused her to hit her head, police said.

The suspects ran off, police said. The victim suffered a laceration to her head and was taken to St. Barnabas Medical Center, where she was treated and released, police said.
