Bronx Man Arrested, Charged With Slashing 2 Stepsons Over A Computer

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A man has been arrested and charged, after police alleged he slashed his two stepsons in the neck and bolted out the door of his Bronx home with no shirt on.

As 1010 WINS' Roger Stern reported, Christopher Stephenson, 44, has been charged with attempted murder and endangering the welfare of a minor. He was arrested around 10 p.m. Friday in Soundview Park, and was freezing because he ran out the door in the bitter cold without a shirt or shoes, police said.

Police claimed Stephenson was arguing with his two stepsons about a computer, when he slashed them both in the neck and ran out of the Ward Avenue apartment around 7:30 p.m. Friday.

"That's crazy – I wouldn't do nothing like that. That's crazy," said a neighbor from down the block named Thomas. "It's terrible – over a computer?"

The stepsons, ages 9 and 17, were taken to Jacobi Medical Center and were expected to recover, police said.
