11/18 CBS2 Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Justin Lewis
CBS 2 Meteorologist

Good afternoon, everyone...

We kicked off our day with the coldest readings we've seen so far this season. And as we head into the afternoon, temperatures out there continue to struggle. We should approach the freezing mark later on, but unfortunately because of the winds, it will never feel like it -- more like 15-25°! The good news is, if you're stuck inside, you'll get to enjoy the pretty blue skies we have in store for you for the remainder of the day.

Temperatures tonight will be even colder than last night's with a few record lows in jeopardy! And as for wind chills, they'll range between a frigid 5 and 15° as we find ourselves facing that persistent wind out of the west. Bundle up!

Not expecting much in the way of relief tomorrow. The winds will ease up a bit, and it will still look pretty overhead, but it will be another struggle to the freezing mark... around 20° below normal!

We'll return to the 40s on Thursday as we tap into some warmer air ahead of an approaching cold front... becoming blustery during the day. Then we cool down again on Friday as another cold air mass settles in.

Check back for more details on this winter-like chill!

Stay warm!
