NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police late Wednesday were investigating the death of a man whose body was found with his throat slit in a bathtub in a Financial District building.

The man, Shawn Miller, was described in published reports as a Citigroup banker.

Around 3:10 p.m. Tuesday, police were sent to an apartment building on Greenwich Street near Albany Street. They found Miller's body with a slit neck in the bathtub, police said.

The New York City Medical Examiner's office was to determine the cause of Miller's death.

Miller worked as the managing director of environmental and social risk management at Citigroup.

"We are deeply saddened by this news and our thoughts are with Shawn's family at this time," Citigroup said in a statement.

Police found evidence of drug paraphernalia was found in the apartment, sources told CBS2. The death was considered suspicious, but the investigation continued late Wednesday.
