Advocates Say Battle Over Sports Betting In NJ Isn't Finished
TRENTON, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A federal judge shot down a request for a partial lift of the ban on sports betting in New Jersey on Friday, but for some the battle isn't over yet.
Advocates for sport betting told WCBS 880's Jim Smith they were prepared for the defeat.
"Obviously we're disappointed, but this was not unexpected," said attorney Dennis Drazin.

Drazin is an adviser for Monmouth Park Race Track, which wants to be the state's first sportsbook, said paperwork has already been filed to elevate the case once again.
"Our battleground will be in the Third Circuit Court of Appeals," he said. "We do believe that we will be successful in the third circuit."
That's because Drazin said last time that court ruled on sports betting, it gave the state what he called a road map, which the state has followed, Smith reported.
For now, Drazin said Monmouth Park will look into real money fantasy sports while the legal battle continues.
