11/25 CBS2 Tuesday Morning Weather Headlines

By Giorgio Panetta, CBS 2 Chief Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good morning everyone,

We have a lot to talk about today. I know your all thinking about tomorrow's storm, but first thing's first -- let's take advantage of the sunny, mild weather today.

We're starting off across the area in the 40s and low 50s, topping off in the upper 50s later on. Clouds will be increasing this evening and temps will drop.

Now, by Wednesday morning, rain will will creep into NYC around 8-9 a.m. as all rain. However, to the north, you'll stay dry until mid-morning -- so if you have travel plans, take 'em and make 'em early.

Travel will deteriorate from lunchtime on -- rapidly. Heavy, wet snow just interior from the coast will plague travelers, while heavy rain batters the coastal communities. Either way you slice it, it's a mess.

As far as totals go, the city is still in the 1 to 3 inches with a slushy mix. North and west, the higher you go in elevation, snow could pile us -- upwards of 6 inches or more. Some could see a foot in the southern Catskills.

Stay tuned for updates on this rapidly changing system.
