12/1: CBS2 Monday Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Justin Lewis
CBS2 Meteorologist

Good afternoon, everyone.

It looks like clouds will return and stick around through sunset. And come mid to late afternoon we'll see the arrival/passage of some showers. That said, if you don't already have the umbrella, grab it now. Temperatures will peak in the low 60s... around 15° above normal.

Any remaining showers will push south/east of the city this evening with temperatures falling into the 40s... 30s by the late evening and overnight hours.

Tomorrow's wake up temperatures will be about 20° colder, so have that coat ready. It looks like another round of precipitation moves in during the afternoon hours with rain across areas south and east; snow/mix inland. The precipitation will fill in during the evening hours... rain in the city/south/east... snow/mix/ice inland. That said, afternoon rush hour travel could become tricky across inland areas. Those inland areas will transition to a plain rain come the late evening hours into the overnight.

Expect some leftover light rain Wednesday morning with some fog around the area. Clouds will linger much of the day, so it won't be pretty, but it will be on the mild side for December... 50s return. High pressure should build in nicely on Thursday bringing us mostly sunny skies. But we fall once again... high only in the 40s.

Check back for more details on the wintry weather ahead!
