12/1: CBS2 Monday Morning Weather Headlines

By Mark McIntyre Jr, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good Monday morning, and welcome to December...although it certainly ain't gonna feel like it! Temperatures in the city will start off in the upper 40s, with mid/upper 30s in the outlying 'burbs. We'll warm up to a high in the mid 50s in NYC, and some folks in NJ may break 60! There could be a few light showers in the afternoon, tapering off by the evening commute.

Morning Update Highs

The nice temps will NOT last, as a cold front swings through tonight and an arctic airmass will take hold. Temps will stay in the 30s tomorrow...so we'll go from well above normal to well below within 24 hours. There also is a higher chance for wet weather Tuesday night into early Wednesday. Some of the far north/west suburbs could get a brief shot of snow or even freezing rain just before the morning commute...Stay tuned for those details.

Temps are back into the low 50s on Wednesday with clearing skies and light breezes. Expect a mostly sunny Thursday with highs in the mid/upper 40s.
