Carmelo Anthony Returns To Knicks' Lineup In Loss To Heat

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — Carmelo Anthony started for the New York Knicks on Sunday night against the Miami Heat after missing two games because of back spasms.

The Knicks (4-14) lost both games without Anthony before falling to the Heat, 86-79.

In his return to the floor, the seven-time All-Star scored 31 points in 41 minutes and added eight rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block.

"If I can go, I can go," Anthony said. "That was my mindset. If I feel like I can play, I am going to give it a shot."

Dwyane Wade returned for the Heat after missing seven games with a hamstring injury. The Heat (9-7) went 3-4 without Wade.

This was the first meeting of the year between the two teams.

The Knicks will host the rival Nets at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night.
