New Lawsuit Claims Cosby Molested Woman When She Was 15 In 1974
LOS ANGELES (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A Southern California woman became the latest accuser against Bill Cosby Tuesday, claiming in a lawsuit that the comedian molested her around 1974 when she was 15 years old.
Judith Huth claimed in the sexual battery lawsuit filed Tuesday in Los Angeles that the molestation occurred in a bedroom of the Playboy Mansion.
Huth's suit states that she and a friend first met Cosby at a Los Angeles-area film shoot and the comedian gave them drinks a week later at a tennis club.
Huth's lawsuit states that Cosby took them to the Playboy mansion after several drinks. Her suit states Cosby forced her to perform a sex act on him with his hand.
An email message sent to Cosby's attorney Martin Singer was not immediately returned.
The woman claims she suffered severe emotional distress and that she discovered its impact on her within the past three years, which allows her to file the lawsuit under California law.
The lawsuit came a day after Temple University in Philadelphia announced that Cosby had resigned a trustee – amid more than a dozen other sexual-assault allegations.
Board chairman Patrick O'Connor said Cosby does not want to be a distraction to the board.
"I have always been proud of my association with Temple University. I have always wanted to do what would be in the best interests of the university and its students," Cosby said in his own statement. "As a result, I have tendered my resignation from the Temple University Board of Trustees."
Cosby, 77, has been a highly visible cheerleader of his alma mater in Philadelphia and a board member since 1982.
Cosby has been under fire since the decades-old sexually assault allegations began to dominate the headlines. The allegations also resulted in the cancellation of his TV comeback.
