Police: Woman's Decomposed Body Found Inside Bronx Apartment
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Police are investigating after a woman's decomposed body was discovered inside the Bronx apartment she shared with her daughter.
Police said officers responding to a 911 call from a neighbor found the body in a fifth-floor apartment on Decatur Avenue at about 1 a.m. Saturday.
The woman's daughter was at home when police made the discovery and that fans surrounded the badly decomposed body in an effort to reduce the stench, The Daily News reported.
Police told the newspaper that investigators have not determined whether foul play was involved and there were no obvious signs of trauma.
Police are questioning the woman's daughter.
An autopsy will be conducted by the medical examiner to determine how and when the 64-year-old woman died.
