Woody Johnson Favorites Tweet Urging Him To Fire Idzik, Calls It 'Inadvertent'

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- You've got to be more careful than that, Woody.

On Tuesday afternoon, an angry Jets fans tweeted at owner Woody Johnson, encouraging him to fire general manager John Idzik.

Johnson hit the "favorite" button before realizing what he did and undoing it.

Following the blunder, Johnson tweeted that the "favorite" was inadvertent.

Idzik appears to be on the hot seat in just his second season as New York's GM. Fans have called for his ouster all season in the form of billboards and banners, though it's anybody's guess what Johnson will decide to do after the season.

Last week, Johnson told the New York Daily News that he's "frustrated" with his team's play -- the Jets are a lowly 3-11 -- but isn't sure if changes will be made.

Some believe that Idzik will be back in light of a recent report indicating that Johnson and Idzik are in the early stages of a coaching search to replace Rex Ryan. Ryan is expected to be fired after missing the playoffs for the fourth consecutive season.

On Tuesday, a team source told Metro New York's Kristian Dyer that there's a "50-50" chance that Idzik will be retained for the 2015 season.
