Shoppers Hit Stores In Droves For Super Saturday

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- It's Super Saturday, the busiest shopping day of the year -- bigger than Black Friday even.

As 1010 WINS' Roger Stern reported, Santa has been getting ready all year at the North Pole, but not so for all the people who help him by doing their own shopping.

Shoppers Hit The Stores In Droves For Super Saturday

"I procrastinated and tried to do something in the beginning of the year because times are tight and unfortunately money doesn't get allocated where it should when it should," said Walter, of Hoboken.

"It's crazy. I was getting pushed!" one shopper told CBS2's Dave Carlin.

Some big department stores are even staying open around the clock to cater to last-minute shoppers.

"I have two jobs. I don't have time to go so I always wait until last minute," Sha'ron Singelton said.

So now it's a mad dash for shoppers to use their remaining time efficiently.
