12/21 CBS2 Sunday Morning Weather Headlines

By Matt DeLucia, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good morning all.

Temps held fairly steady overnight in the city and we're starting off in the low to mid-30s this morning. Today will kick off a warming trend for the week. Unfortunately, the mild temps will be accompanied by plenty of rain.

Clouds will be on the decrease today, with some sun later on. Highs will be in the low 40s, but NW winds will make it feel more like the 30s. We're looking at partly cloudy skies for tonight, with lows once again in the lower 30s in NYC.

Winter officially arrives at 6:03 p.m., so today will be the shortest day of the year with just over nine hours of daylight. The good news is our days start to increase in length again from here on out!

Monday looks dry to start out, with some showers moving in during the late afternoon and evening. It will be slightly warmer, with highs in the mid-40s. This trend continues into Tuesday, with showers throughout the day. Wednesday looks to be a washout, with a steady rain and gusty winds. It will be mild though, with temps around 50 for your Tuesday and mid to upper 50s for Wednesday!
