12/22: CBS2 Morning Weather Headlines

By Mark McIntyre Jr, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good Monday morning everybody! Christmas week is finally here, and we have plenty of weather to talk about. Expect clouds to rule for the next few days, along with a few showers today and tomorrow. Highs today should top off in the mid 40s in/around the city, and topping out at 50 tomorrow! Between showers, expect some fog and drizzle.

Morning Surface Map

The real story this week is the Christmas Eve storm...a very powerful system will work its way across the country and bring with it soaking rain, strong wind, and the chance for even some thunderstorms. As such, expect significant travel delays if you're on a last minute flight or hitting the roads. Temperatures will reach upper 50s for highs on Wednesday, and you ain't gettin' snow with temps like those!

Morning Storm Talk

Christmas Day will start with a few lingering showers and temps dropping into the low 40s for much of the day...and the winds will be strong. Make sure any decorations are firmly secured, or else they'll be flying like Santa and his reindeer! Be sure to stay tuned for our upcoming updates!
