Homicide Detectives Investigating Deaths Of 2 Men Found 2 Miles Apart In Coram

CORAM, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) - Homicide detectives on eastern Long Island are investigating the deaths of two men, whose bodies were found less than two miles apart within about 90 minutes.

Suffolk County police say the bodies were found in the Coram community on Monday morning.

Police first got a call shortly after 8 a.m. of a dead man in a grassy area near a parking lot. Police say he appeared to have been shot.

Officers at 9:20 a.m. were called to Coram-Swezeytown Road and Mount Sinai-Coram Road, were they found a second dead man inside a parked car. Police would only say that person was a victim of violence.

A police spokeswoman said detectives have yet to determine if the deaths are related.

Neither victim was immediately identified.
